Student Feedback

After students finished the unit they took this survey so the teachers could get an idea of student thoughts.  Here are the results:

What did you like best about this new way of learning math?

"I liked how we could take things into our own hands and be responsible for our own work so it prepares us for the future."

"I liked that we get to go at our own pace." (this was the response of about 1/3 of the students)

"I liked this way of learning math because when ever I need to re-hear my lesson, I can just hit play and understand it that time."

"The thing i liked best was working at my own past because if we had a currant day it was due , I would hurry up and do it and get a low grade." - THIS IS MASTERY!

I like the new way of learning math because I get to slowly get through each subject. Because, sometimes when i go really fast on a subect i have no idea what to do. This helps me get through it and understand it. I also have time to work with the teacher and with others.

"I enjoyed learning this way because it lets us as students have a little bit more freedom to show our teachers of what we are capable of, like doing projects like theses on our own."

"What I liked the best was that it was a more fun way to learn."

"I liked using the computers and not having to listen to my teacher's lectures and be independent."

Less Stress!  We all know that stress can often have a negative impact on achievement.

"I was less stressed when we did projects because I was not like "Omg I didnt do this or that" It was very stress free."

"I think its a fun new cool way that were learning and is pretty awesome.  I feel like I do good not under pressure.  I feel like I'm doing good when I do things ahead."

What i really liked about it was that we got to work in our own pace without holding back the class or the students.

It helped me understand more.

I liked it because I got the chance to work on my own pace, and if I ever needed help I just re-watched the videos or simply ask for help.

I liked that you gave us the responsibility to work on own, and get things done by ourselves.

I like that we could have taken our time an that the teachers are giving us an opportunity to show how well we can do on our own.

It was at my own pace and people who already understood it could of came back and helped me.

Got to learn a different way of learning math, rather than the boring regular way. It is boring to just write notes and this was a better way.

I like it because i learn a lot and learn in working by myself and managing my time.
